ACTION WORLD

On December the 3rd we went to Action World. We had to walk there and it was so windy that the wind blew the sand at us. When we got there the girls got to start on the waterslide first then after an hour the boys got to go on but some boys like me wanted to play mini golf. Then we went to play mini golf and I got about 5 holes in ones and like about 6 rounds I kind of did shortcuts. Because I kept on hitting the golf ball hard and then I went off course then it keeps coming back on.

Logo

On the 26th of November we done a google slide about recycling and we done some create parts. I’m going to show you my create part 2 and for that we did a logo and it had 6 sticks and 3 arrows and it was lime green. Refuse is when you are full and you put the rest into the scrap bucket. Reuse is when you have something to eat and then later you eat it again. Recycling is when you put plactic in a type of rubbish bin

Plant Animation

We did a plant animation about how plants grow. The plant animation is when you do an animation about the plant growing. We watched a video about plants growing and we were getting information from it and 

that’s how we did the animation. We learnt that the seed 

has its own food in the seed and the roots grow down to get nutrients and minerals then it will go higher, then reach the top and be grown fully.

ELECTRICITY

On the 7th of November we did another maker space about electricity. One activity was when we blow up a balloon.  Next you get a blanket then rub the balloon on the blanket and then, you rub it on your hair and then we saw that your hair will attach to the balloon if you pull it away slowly.  Next activity was when you get a comb then rub it onto your hair then put it close to pepper then it will attach to the pepper (you have to mix the pepper and salt to make it happen).

MAKER SPACE

On October the 25th we done a maker space.  A maker space is when we do a challenge so far we only done 2 maker spaces. The second time was when we done a cooking competition but we had to go into groups of five  and in our group we made spaghetti and meatballs. We had to use vegetables that got picked from the garden. In the garden was parsley, silver beet, lettuce, and carrots.  We first put in parsley and carrot in to the meat balls then we went to fry the meatballs and we put the spaghetti into a pot and let them cook for 14 minutes then we put it into a weird looking bowl and then we took it to the classroom and put it on a table then we were finished.  Now I'm going to explain how the plants grow first you put it into soil then when it feels comfortable it will start to grow down and go deeper and deeper until the root goes down so deep that the root can reach the nutrients and minerals. Then it will start to grow the stalk and then go higher than higher until the plant has fully grown.

Geometry Shapes

Our class did some geometry.  We did some geometry activities 

like little boxes, changing shapes, Boxes of tricks, starting from scratch, Tangram world, and open and shut. 
Little boxes is when you make a cube out of a diamond by drawing a diamond and then fold the sides
and the bottom or top.  Starting from scratch is when you get a sprite and make it go in a shape.
Changing shape is when you make a squared pizza and cut it into Eight slices and you can
make fish and houses.  On boxes and tricks I can say that was the hardest one for me
but I made one 2 open squared boxes. Tangram world was when you cut on lines and
you can make a lady a cat and a lady doing ice skating.

Juicie challnge

Melting Juicies
In our class we did a project.We had to insulate a juice we did
one by wrapping a  juicies in tin foil and making a cube out of chrome book foam.
Then we wrapped our cube with tin foil and the tin foil reflects the sun. If the sun hits the juices I
t will still reflect the sun because we wrapped it in tin foil on to our juices and we left it in the sun
for 90 minutes to see if it will melt. Ours turned out half half which is 50/50. This is our creation
and our group. 

Are you on the right thing at the right time

Today we learnt what to be on. I thought that your drive is the best because it takes you to your work and work is the most important thing in school and at work. So that’s why I thought your drive is the most important because I know it is to me.

Cross country

On the 30th of August Paihia school had cross country.
 My  job before I started  running was to round up all of the 5 year olds, 6 year olds,
7 year olds, and 8 year olds ,at Bledisloe. It had to be the boys first before the girls.
  I enjoyed coming 5th and I didn’t like the pain but training was so worth it. 
We went to train by marking our time and we had to do 5 laps going in circles
and I think I beat my time by 3 minutes and it was a huge area to run.
It was the best cross country and I think I can’t reach that limit again.
